Absolute heaven Positive: Our stay at Elk Haven Big Vista Ranch in Bozeman was nothing short of extraordinary. We arrived late in the evening after a long journey, and even in the dark we knew we had found somewhere truly special. The property was immaculate and thoughtfully equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. To top it all off, the owners had kindly left us some snacks and treats, which were hugely appreciated after such a long flight. It wasn’t until the following morning that we were able to fully appreciate the breathtaking setting. The pictures on Booking.com simply do not do this place justice. The private location is beyond spectacular, surrounded by open fields, majestic mountains and the freshest mountain air imaginable. The scenery is almost impossible to put into words – it simply has to be experienced to be believed. The love, care and attention that has gone into creating this property is evident everywhere you look. The landscaping is absolutely stunning and clearly reflects years of dedication. Waking up to watch elk wandering through the gardens and surrounding fields was a magical experience that we will never forget. We also saw deer that were remarkably relaxed around people, beautiful horses on the property, and an abundance of birds and wildlife that made every moment outdoors feel special. Every day brought another unforgettable experience. Running off the jetty into the lake first thing in the morning was exhilarating, followed by warming up in the plunge pool and hot tub. Evenings were equally memorable, watching some of the most spectacular sunsets we’ve ever seen. Sitting on the porch in cowboy boots and a Stetson, holding a hot mug of coffee while taking in the peaceful surroundings and watching wildlife pass by, is a memory we’ll treasure forever. One evening, after enjoying a barbecue on the patio, we wandered down to the fire pit to toast s’mores as the sun began to set.

Our week at Elk Haven was amazing! My family absolutely loved it and we will definitely return. The views from the house are spectacular, as is the wildlife nearby—especially the hummingbirds, elk and deer. The house is super comfortable and has everything we needed. We will never forget dinners on the deck with the hummingbirds. Mark and Jayne are wonderful hosts and live just over the hill. Their horses live on the property so they are available to help you with anything when you need it, but give you enough privacy to enjoy your vacation. My favorite part was alternating between swimming in the lake and sitting in the hot tub right next to the lake. And soon there will be a sauna there—the perfect circuit. Bodhi Farms is close by as is the stunning Hyalite Lake. Bozeman is close enough to run to the grocery store or any of the restaurants in town. This house will make your Montana vacation perfect.
